Wagga Young Leaders Program – seeking applications
Regional Disability Advocacy Service (RDAS) is excited to announce that we will be delivering a fantastic new FREE leadership program for young people with disability in the Wagga Wagga area!
This Wagga Young Leaders Program will support up to 12 young people aged 16-25 with disability to achieve their leadership goals, skills and interests, whatever they may be.
The program has been co-designed by RDAS, Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA), and young people with disability from the Wagga Wagga area.
If you want to be a leader, this program is for you! It will help you to:
- develop your personal goals and values
- gain new knowledge about leadership and leadership skills
- learn about disability rights, community, advocacy and how to make change
- get to know other young disabled people who want to be leaders
- connect with, and learn from, leaders who are already making change in the sector
The Wagga Young Leaders Program is for young disabled people who want to become leaders in the future. There is no cost to participate, and you don’t need to have already had lots of experience with leadership. Catering will also be provided.
People with all kinds of disability are welcome and you do not need a medical diagnosis to be part of the program. We will be running fortnightly sessions from the 9th of October 2024 through to late March or early April 2025, bringing together up to 12 young people with disability from the Wagga Wagga area.
Sessions will run on Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm, with venue in Wagga to be confirmed as soon as possible.
