The Royal Commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability has begun (April 2019) and will run for three years until 2022.
How can RDAS help? Regional Disability Advocacy Service (RDAS) is a National Disability Advocacy Program (NDAP) funded program which means that an RDAS advocate can help you or someone you know to share your/their stories of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation to the Disability Royal Commission.
Stories will be told initially via submissions. An RDAS advocate will help support you through the submission process by assisting you to tell your story in the best way to suit your needs/abilities, as well as accessing supports such as legal support (Disability Royal Commission Legal Service) and counselling (National Counselling and Referral Service- Blue Knot Foundation) if required.
